In the Hawaiian language, the word ‘pahoa’ means dagger or knife. It is unknown when the indigenous Hawaiians settled the area during pre-contact times, but the deep, rich soil and important protected archeological sites in the area suggest a long history of habitation. Pahoa town is a step back into time. Pahoa is close to Lava Tree State Park, Kapoho Beaches, and amazing jungles.
Pahoa is located at the end of HWY 130.NOTE: All guests should proceed at their own risk. The Chalet Kilauea Collection Staff and Management does not assume any liability regarding any of the activities or locations described within this Website.
